The Regional Vicariate of Odisha is a missionary unit of the St. Pius X Province, Manjummel (OCD). The mission began on 20 July 1993 with the inauguration of Carmel Bhavan, Sindirappilly, Chatrapur (Ganjam District, Odisha).
Historical Development
1993 – Mission started at Chatrapur with a monastery and boarding home for students.
2002 – Elevated to the status of a Provincial Delegation.
19 February 2006 – Theology House inaugurated at Sambalpur.
2007 – The OCDs were entrusted with the parish of Laighuda in Rayagada District.
8 June 2011 – The General Definitory of the Order raised the Provincial Delegation of Odisha to a Regional Vicariate, dependent on the Manjummel Province.

Relationship with Manjummel Province
The Odisha Vicariate was founded and continues to be under the care of the St. Pius X Province, Manjummel, serving as one of its major missionary expansions in eastern India.
