St. Joseph’s Province OCD is one of the provinces of the Order of Discalced Carmelites (OCD) in India. It was established as a General Delegation in 1981, became a Commissariate in 1990, and was erected as a full-fledged Province on 19 March 1993 under the patronage of St. Joseph.

Brief History
The Tamil Nadu Province traces its roots to the missionary activities of the Discalced Carmelites in South India. The Province was formed from communities that originally belonged to the Malabar and Manjummel Provinces. Over the years it has expanded its ministry through parishes, schools, formation houses, social service institutions, retreat ministries, and mission centers in India and abroad.
